Have you seen the commercial for Nyquil with the sick stewardess on the airplane? She's all miserable and sicky-boo for her trans-continental flight, and poor thing, the other stewards fix her up with some Nyquil and she cozies up in the jump seat with her little airplane blanket and pillow, all tranquilized and sleeping soundly for the rest of the night. Aaah. So sweet, look she's even smiling in her sleep. Then she's up in the morning, smiling so happily, handing out fresh cups of coffee to all the waiting passengers. Happy happy. Nyquil good. Sleep good. End of commercial.
Okay, REALLY???? [shakes head] Does anyone really want a SICK stewardess walking up and down the aisle of their plane? Hello! I know I don't. What the? It is like everyone's (okay, maybe just mine) worst nightmare to be trapped in a flying tube, full of re-circulated air, knowing that the guy 2 rows behind you, who can't stop coughing or sneezing, is totally giving his cold to you. Thanks, buddy! just what I wanted. Don't you dread sitting in front of a sniffler or cougher? I know I do. Seriously. This commercial made me shake my head. Why is it sooo happy? Just what we want, a sick stewardess handing us a cup of coffee in the morning. Thanks! and I'll be using Nyquil in 36 hours, when your cold germs infest me. Ick! Sometimes I wonder what people are thinking when they make these things up!
(also, I think this blog may give away the fact that I am a bit, a bit, of a germophobe. just a little anyway)
