Walk Like an Egyptian
Here is Matthew rocking the Egyptian Pharoah look. He wants to look legit, you know. You can't leave out the small details like eye-makeup if you really want to be historically acurate. We brought him out in public later to get some new ski pants for his trip to Brian Head with Dad, and Jes was afraid people would think we were toting along a 5 year old goth. But, no one seemed to mind. It is Vegas, after all.
Matthew's funny conversation with Uncle Kevin and Aunt Kellie at New Years... I really have to write these things down.
(Preface: I want Uncle Kevin to build Matt a small (like play-sized) pyramid for all his little Egypt figures, unforturnately, this was lost in translation when I told Matthew, who expects a life-sized pyramid at our house now.)
Matthew: Uncle Kevin, you will build a pyramid in my backyard?
Kev: Sure! What should we build it out of?
Matthew: Limestone! (see, always historically accurate)
Kevin: Wow! limestone, well, we will probably have to go dig it out of the mountains, we will need some help. Maybe we could get some slaves to help build it.
Matthew: (unimpeded by the concept of slave labor) Yes! slaves, like 1000!
Kevin: What about the jars that hold organs, we would need some of those to go inside.
Matthew: Yes.
Kevin: We need a mummy to put inside, a dead guy. Where do you think we could get a dead guy?
Matthew: Yes! My friend Tyler could be the mummy! (I love how he very quickly assigned one of his friends to be the "dead guy" in the pyramid!)
To Aunt Kellie, after he found out she dressed up like a mummy for Halloween:
Matthew:"Did you have a sarcophagus?"
"Did you bring your costume with you?"
Kellie: Sorry, Matthew, I didn't realize I would need it.

Oh how I miss you guys. Thanks for updating the blog--it is good to hear your "voice"! And the pictures of the girlies are adorable--enough to make me want one of my own :)
He is so funny! I want to see this pyramid when Kevin builds it and sets it up in the backyard, along with the dead guy!
I love that kid. He's just awesome.
