Mommy Tag

sadly, all pics of my kids together look like this currently. This is easter morning.

Thanks to my cousin Brookers, I have been tagged for "Mommy Tag." I have been tagged already numerous times, let's see, the one where you tell 6 things people don't know about you-- not even sure what to share on that one- but maybe I'll attempt it, and the one with emptying the contents of your purse, and I've seen a few other survey type things on my friends' blogs, but I was always too tired to do any of them. So, I'll do this one since I'm awake, the babies are asleep and Matthew is occupied with a friend. :) oh, and Brooke, don't mind if I steal some of your answers!

1. Typically what time do you wake up? The 1st, 2nd, or 3rd time? :)
2. On a good night what time are your kids in bed? Matthew at 7:00. Maren and Evey, between 9 and 10
3. How long have you been a mommy? Almost 5 crazy, fun-filled years
4. How old were you when you became a mommy? 26.5
5. What is your favorite kids tv show/movie? I love the WonderPets. They are so darn cute! "The phone, the phone is ringing!" It has a high cute factor which I consider important in order for me to tolerate childrens programming.
6. What is your least favorite kids tv show? Yo Gabba Gabba. It is the worst conceived childrens show I've ever laid eyes on. But I love when they mock it on The Soup!
7. What is your favorite chore? Vacuuming. I like the feel of fluffy carpet under my toes.
8. What is your favorite meal to cook? Roast Beast in the crock pot. Easy, and delicious, and the whole house smells good!
9. What is the meal you cook most often? Eggs. Often for dinner when I haven't cooked anything else. Fortunately my kid loves them.
10. What is your kids favorite meal? Bagels and cream cheese. I know it's a little odd, right? should be fruit loops or something, but just try feeding him anything else for breakfast.
11. What is your favorite thing your husband does with your kids? When he puts matthew to bed and tickles him and i hear the laughter echo through the house, or when he reads any of the pidgeon books and I hear "don't let the pigeon drive the bus!"
12. Name 5 things that make you smile when you're being a mom? 1. Listening to Matthew sing, he remembers so many songs and he makes up his own, which is hysterical. He also can match the sound and pitch of any appliance currently operating in the house, it's a little disconcerting to hear him singing the blender. 2. Staring at them while they are asleep. They are perfect! 3. Having Matthew come up and say, " can i snuggle with you?" so sweet. He is my little buddy still. sigh. 4. When Matthew says sweet things like, "Mom, now your tummy is gone you can snuggle me and I will be soo happy!" 5. I smile thinking that someday I will sleep again and that will be a huge accomplishment for me and the girls!
14. When was the last time you went out without your kids? I went by myself to the store about a week ago and left everyone with Jes. They were all alive when I came home. I can't think of the last time it was just me & jes. oh well. Sometime when I was pregnant!
15. What is your favorite past time/activity to do with your kids? Reading with MAtthew or going for walks. We're fairly low key these days with the babies and all.
16. Name 1 thing you said you'd never do as a mom: Drive a mini-van, but I LOVE MY VAN! it is the only way to travel with two infant carrier seats and a huge Britax.
17. What is your favorite quality that your mom has? She always wants to do what is right, even when she doesn't express it quite right, she has the big picture in mind.
18. What is your advice for new moms? Don't get upset by all the advice people give you-- they have learned the hard way so you don't have to!
19. What is the scariest or most heartbreaking moment as a mom? Sadly, I honestly don't know. Probably when Matthew was watched by Sarah when I worked at Dream Dinners and I was loaded with mommy guilt, or when I had no sitter and had to leave him in the back room of the store crying while I helped someone, again, huge mommy guilt. All of my heartbreak and fear comes from my inability to be the mom that I think I should be.
20. What is your most joyful moment of being a mom? How do you narrow it down? Feeling the first movements while you're pregnant. Labor, no matter how long it lasts or how badly it hurts. Holding them for the first time. The first smile or laugh. Hearing "Mommy" for the first time. It gets better every day! I did have a moment after the twins were born when I was on the couch with all 3 of my children asleep around me or on my lap and it was very real and very happy.
21. When was the last time you were told 'I Love You' by one of your kids? Gratefully, Matthew is a little love bug and gives me hugs kisses and I love you's all day long! How lucky am I?
