We made a pre-vacation overnight excursion down to HB to see what exactly it would be like with the kiddos on the beach. We'll be there for a week in August, and I wanted to see what we really needed and how things would go so I could pack smarter. Plus, lets be honest, its really hot here, so a day at the beach with the ocean breezes sounded like heaven. And it was pretty close. Take away the screaming babies on the car ride and Maren's late night screaming and I'd say it was a 9 out of 10. Matthew and Evey could hardly be kept out of the waves. Maren warmed up to the beach after she ate her lunch first, and all three of them just played and played and played. Anna, true to form, hung out happily in the tent and was a delight. The weather was so perfect that Jes hardly felt his back turning lobster red! And my camera got this wierd sun angle thing that washed out the kids quite artistically!
