Valentines Day, part 1: Matthew

Besides coming home from preschool with a ton of candy that rivaled Halloween, the main problem I had with Valentines day this year was the Transformer Valentines. Currently Matthews newest obsession, we had to touch and hold every single transformer Valentine in the package, and, he wanted to keep the Bumblebee one for himself, of course. I don't think he really understood the concept of giving them away at that point. So, we wrote the Bumblebee one from Mommy to Matthew :) He was so happy, he carried it around all day and slept with it at night. That kid knows how to pull my heartstrings, I tell you. Anyway, then the drama started with the leftover Valentines. What preschooler has 32 friends? So, we made a matching game out of the leftovers. Then, came the Valentine surgery. Does anyone else have to do this for their kid-- First, we had to repair the Optimus Prime valentine that came with a pencil sticking through it. The two convenient, pencil holding holes had to be repaired because it was a "broken valentine". And then, the aforementioned Bumblebee valentine had to be taped "all over Bumblebee, Mom" to protect him presumably from all the love and folding and unfolding that Matthew was giving him. Seriously!! I am repairing little pieces of paper and my kid is very serious about this-- being a parent is a wierd experience sometimes!

recovering from surgery by scotch tape!

i just thought this pic was funny because it is so typical-- Matthew always has a special place for his little knick-knacks and toys these days. They are either in a secret hiding place, or balanced precariously on furniture or other candy, as with this treat. They can never just be put on the counter, it has to be tricky!

yes, valentines is the new halloween..wow, the candy at our house is unbelieveable! And the cards..my kids have to all line up the cards, line up the candy, make trades..and leave the mess everywhere! oh, and too funny about Matthew's tactics for placing things, such imagination!

Hehe that was funny! Yesterday I have a nervous breakdown because all the candy wrappers were all over my family room. I told the kids.." please do not put candy wrappers on my floor" but as you know their selective hearing kicked in and the result was disaster in the Wilsons household! If mama ain't happy...nobody is!
The girls are looking so cute and healthy! and it is really funny to see how they develop different personalities. Hope you are doing ok.
Love you
